Young people need more than opportunities: the skills to reach them, the confidence to go for them and the stability to keep moving. Our three programmes work as one.
Why three programmes?
Life isn’t divided into departments
Lose a job and money, rent and stress quickly follow. Work, wellbeing and home are connected, so we connect them: one member, one network, many pathways.
0
The JobHub journey
Weekly group calls, a mentor and monthly opportunity pairing.
0
Members per cohort
Small groups from 2027, with places confirmed by UYN.
0
Members per mentor
One mentor for every three members on the journey.
Work. Wellbeing. Home.
Three programmes. One network.
Young People First · Early Support · Opportunity + Preparation · Partnership · Safeguarding · Progression · Community
01 · Upsurge JobHub — from potential to opportunity. Skills, preparation, workplace experience and opportunity pairing, so young people get into work, stay in work and grow at work.
Prepare: CVs, applications, interviews, digital and AI skills, LinkedIn and sector insight.
Experience: shadowing, work experience, internships, apprenticeships and jobs. We aim for 65% of members to have a first opportunity by the end of the 13 weeks. That’s a target, not a promise: employers make every hiring decision.
02 · Upsurge Wellbeing
Your wellbeing matters
Move. Connect. Learn. Talk. Running and fitness, member socials, workshops on stress and resilience, and help finding professional support, including NHS Talking Therapies, when it’s needed.
We’re not a clinical or crisis service. Our flagship ambition: an annual Upsurge Run for Wellbeing.
03 · Upsurge Home
A secure future starts at home
An early point of contact for housing worries, from sofa surfing to threatened eviction. We help young people understand their options and connect them with councils, housing advice and homelessness charities.
We’re not an emergency hostel and we don’t allocate housing.
